Cyclops Blueprint Fragment Locations Guide for Subnautica 2

Updated: 2026-08-067 sections

The Cyclops is the largest pilotable vehicle in Subnautica 2, a 1500 m-depth submarine that functions as a mobile base. It can dock a Seamoth or Prawn Suit, house fabricators and growbeds, and serve as a forward operating base for deep-sea expeditions. Unlocking it requires scanning three types of fragments: the Hull, the Engine, and the Bridge. This guide covers where to find each.

The Cyclops: Your Mobile Headquarters

The Cyclops is the largest pilotable vehicle in Subnautica 2, a 1500 m-depth submarine that functions as a mobile base. It can dock a Seamoth or Prawn Suit, house fabricators and growbeds, and serve as a forward operating base for deep-sea expeditions. Unlocking it requires scanning three types of fragments: the Hull, the Engine, and the Bridge. This guide covers where to find each.

The Three Fragment Types

The Cyclops blueprint is divided into three separate fragment scans:

Fragment TypeScans NeededUnlocks
Cyclops Hull3Hull blueprint
Cyclops Engine3Engine blueprint
Cyclops Bridge3Bridge / cockpit blueprint

You must scan all three types to unlock the complete Cyclops blueprint. Each type is found in different wreck locations.

Cyclops Hull Fragment Locations

Hull fragments are the most common and are found in mid-depth wrecks:

  • Mushroom Forest wrecks (150-250 m): The mushroom forest wrecks are the most reliable source of Hull fragments. Check inside the large broken hull sections.
  • Sea Treader's Path wrecks (200-300 m): Wrecks along the Sea Treader path often contain Hull fragments.
  • Underwater Islands wrecks (100-300 m): Another good source; watch for Bonesharks.

Cyclops Engine Fragment Locations

Engine fragments tend to be in slightly deeper or more dangerous wrecks:

  • Underwater Islands deep wrecks (200-300 m): The deeper wrecks in the underwater islands are a primary source of Engine fragments.
  • Mushroom Forest wrecks (150-250 m): Some mushroom forest wrecks also contain Engine fragments alongside Hull fragments.
  • Mountains wreck (200-400 m): The mountains biome has a wreck with Engine fragments, but Reaper Leviathans patrol the area. Approach with caution.

Cyclops Bridge Fragment Locations

Bridge fragments are the hardest to find and are usually in the deepest of the three wreck sets:

  • Crash Zone wreck (near the Aurora, 200-400 m): The wreck near the Aurora is a key source of Bridge fragments. The radiation and Reaper Leviathans near the Aurora make this dangerous; bring a radiation suit and a fast vehicle.
  • Mountains wreck (200-400 m): The mountains wreck also contains Bridge fragments but is Reaper territory.
  • Underwater Islands deep wrecks (200-300 m): Check the deepest wrecks here as a backup.

Build Materials and Construction

Once all three fragment types are scanned, build the Cyclops at the Mobile Vehicle Bay. The materials required are substantial:

  • Plasteel Ingots (from titanium and lithium): for the hull.
  • Enameled Glass (from glass and stalker teeth): for the bridge viewport.
  • Lubricant (from creepvine): for the engine and moving parts.
  • Computer Chip (from copper wire, gold, table coral): for the bridge systems.
  • Power Cells (x3): for the engine power system.
  • Advanced Wiring Kit (from gold, copper, rubber): for the engine.

Deploy the Mobile Vehicle Bay on the surface and select the Cyclops. The bay fabricates the massive submarine on the water, and you can board it immediately.

First Steps After Building the Cyclops

  • Install a Depth Module MK1 at the Cyclops upgrade console to extend depth from 900 m to 1300 m.
  • Install an Engine Efficiency Module to reduce power consumption.
  • Build interior fabricators, lockers, and growbeds inside the Cyclops to make it a true mobile base.
  • Stock it with spare power cells and a power cell charger for extended deep-sea trips.
  • Dock your Prawn Suit or Seamoth in the vehicle bay for deep exploration.

Frequently Asked Questions

There are three fragment types (Hull, Engine, Bridge), and you need to scan 3 of each type, for a total of 9 fragment scans to unlock the complete Cyclops blueprint.

The mushroom forest and underwater islands wrecks are the safest sources of Hull and Engine fragments. The Bridge fragments near the Aurora and mountains are more dangerous due to Reaper Leviathans and radiation.

If you search the wreck near the Aurora, yes. The Aurora crash zone is radioactive until you repair the drive core. Always wear a radiation suit when approaching the Aurora.

No. The Mobile Vehicle Bay is required to fabricate all large vehicles, including the Cyclops. Make sure you have it deployed on the surface before attempting to build.
